Confidential Drug Rehabilitation

Question by brianna n: We’re in Caldwell, New Jersey and need to find low-cost drug rehab programs. How?
We’re really strapped for cash. My husband got fired from his job because they discovered that he’s using heroin. My income alone will not be enough to get him into a drug rehab. One of my three sons is already working, but he’s already got his own family to feed so I really can’t ask for too much. We have no relatives nearby and I don’t know anyone whom I could turn to for financial assistance. Can anybody give me ideas on how I can put my husband through drug rehab? And please don’t say I need to get a part-time job, because I’m already doing that every spare time I’ve got.

Perhaps your husband can get an outpatient methadone prescription which you will have to keep out of the hands of your three children.

Check to see if it will show up on drug tests. This will buy some time for your husband. He can get a job and save the money for rehab. If he doesn’t want to get a second part-time job, he can maintain the house while you work nights. See if there is a job in your field that will pay more money.

Also see if your other two children can get jobs. They should put their cash in the bank rather than bring it home.

Just three weeks after Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold went on their April 20 killing spree at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., President Clinton hosted a White House conference on youth violence. The president declared it a strategy session to seek “the best ideas from people who can really make a difference: parents and young people, teachers and religious leaders, law enforcement, gun manufacturers, representatives of the entertainment industry and those of us here in government.”

There was, however, complete silence from the president when it came to including representatives from the mental-health community, whom many believe can provide important insight about the possible connection between the otherwise seemingly senseless acts of violence being committed by school-age children and prescription psychotropic drugs such as Ritalin, Luvox and Prozac.

. . . . There are nearly 6 million children in the United States between the ages of 6 and 18 taking mind-altering drugs prescribed for alleged mental illnesses that increasing numbers of mental-health professionals are questioning.

. . . . Although the list of school-age children who have gone on violent rampages is growing at a disturbing rate — and the shootings at Columbine became a national wake-up call — few in the mental-health community have been willing to talk about the possibility that the heavily prescribed drugs and violence may be linked. Those who try to investigate quickly learn that virtually all data concerning violence and psychotropic drugs are protected by the confidentiality provided minors. But in the highly publicized shootings this spring, information has been made available to the public.

–April 16: Shawn Cooper, a 15-year-old sophomore at Notus Junior-Senior High School in Notus, Idaho, was taking Ritalin, the most commonly prescribed stimulant, for bipolar disorder when he fired two shotgun rounds, narrowly missing students and school staff.

–April 20: Harris, an 18-year-old senior at Columbine High School, killed a dozen students and a teacher before taking his own life. Prior to the shooting rampage, he had been under the influence of Luvox, one of the new selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, or SSRI, antidepressants approved in 1997 by the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, for children up to the age of 17 for treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD.

–May 20: T.J. Solomon, a 15-year-old at Heritage High School in Conyers, Ga., was being treated with Ritalin for depression when he opened fire on and wounded six classmates…Two other high-profile cases from last year show a similar pattern:

–May 21, 1998: Kip Kinkel, a 15-year-old at Thurston High School in Springfield, Ore., murdered his parents and then proceeded to school where he opened fire on students in the cafeteria, killing two and wounding 22. Kinkel had been prescribed both Ritalin and Prozac. Although widely used among adults, Prozac has not been approved by the FDA for pediatric use.

–March 24, 1998: Mitchell Johnson, 13, and Andrew Golden, 11, opened fire on their classmates at Westside Middle School in Jonesboro, Ark. Johnson had been receiving psychiatric counseling and, although information about the psychotropic drugs that may have been prescribed for him has not been made public, his attorney, Val Price, responded when asked about it: “I think that is confidential information, and I don’t want to reveal that.”

. . A great deal has been written about all of these cases. There have, however, been no indications that all of these children watched the same TV programs or listened to the same music. Nor has it been established that they all used illegal drugs, suffered from alcohol abuse or had common difficulties with their families or peers.

They did not share identical home lives, dress alike or participate in similar extracurricular activities. But all of the above were labeled as suffering from a mental illness and were being treated with psychotropic drugs that for years have been known to cause serious adverse effects when given to children.

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am 100% sure I was fired last week because of statements made by my former employer to my THEN current employer. My current employer knew many things he could not have known without speaking to my former manager. For example my then boss know all about my stint in rehab which was several years ago! He also knew about a demotion that I was forced to take, and a written warning I received etc etc. My question is there any way I can prove that my former company slandered me to the current company??? If so how??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I am doing an essay on this and just trying to get allot of different procpectives on this so if you could please say your honest opotions and everything about this I would greatly appericate it.
For instance: My little nefew saw me and my friends smoking it once when I was younger and without me or our parents finding out he started doing it as well. We didnt know he was doing it till he was 16 and by then he was so addicated to it that he could not even live a normal life. He refused rehab and everything and nothing anyone tried perfosinals or other could not get him away from it. Last year he died from over dose on Pills and he is greatly missed I wish so much he would have never seen me doing it. I no longer do it and am grealy against it.

My boss/ mother figure is married to this guy who went to rehab and has been clean for awhil (so he says)….Ultimately I work for this ladies son whom I am really close too…..he pays us…….So I want to tell him the secret I have…….about his mom(my boss, but really hes the real boss), his moms husband….hes been lying about being clean……He pretends to go to these meetings and stuff…a month ago he took me to the airport and we stopped to get gas….I saw a crack rock in the car and it freaked me out…I was in shock and I couldnt believe it…Havent said anything…..But I want to tell her son about it…..because like I said hes my friend and hes the one who pays us and hired me…….But Im afraid to tell him but his mom needs to know somehow……..because her husband is playing her for a fool and I dont want to see her hurt…Im so confused….I been dealing with this for a month….and Im afraid If I tell its going to cause problems.But wouldnt u want to know?

I am in a relationship with a woman who knows about my addiction to infantilism (wearing diapers). I don’t want to call it a fetish, because unlike a fetish, I don’t ‘need’ diapers to be aroused. I know most people have little to no understanding of the issues of infantilism. The term ‘infantilism’ has such a broad range that those who practice even a mild form of it, although keeping to themselves, seem to get a very negative reaction. The only clarification I want to make is that it has NOTHING to do with children AT ALL. Now for me,, I don’t go around dressing nor acting like a baby. I keep my business to myself and don’t go around flaunting it or putting it in people’s faces by making it obvious that I wear diapers. In fact, no one has ever known I wear diapers except for my GF (who I recently told). We are both christian believers, and she is of the strong opinion that having this addiction to diapers is a hindrance to my life. While I know this addiction of mine isn’t something that is not shared by mainstream society, I don’t think it is harming anything. I apologize if my question is a bit long, but I am trying to put as many facts as I can into it, so that those answering can be as informed as possible. I do, on occasion, wet the diapers while wearing them, but generally don’t carry it any further than that. Basically I wear under my normal clothes, and go about mt daily business without anyone knowing.

My questions are.

1) If after moving to an other state to be with the person you are dating and claim to love ( having known of their diaper addiction BEFORE you ever moved) would you break off the relationship?

2) How would you feel if the person you are with wears diapers from time to time, even though they don’t flaunt it?

3) If diapers give me such comfort, and pleasure, from time to time,,,should I do away with them, or is my GF being insensitive in her request/demand for me to give them up perminatly?

I wear adult diapers. I can not fint into baby diapers. Even if I could I fint into baby diapers, I would not wear that kind of diaper.

Now, don’t get me wrong I don’t think I’m bigger or better than anybody else in this world in any way.

I get this feeling that I know plenty of other people get that I’m meant to do something big in this world, but I can’t figure it out. My parents, my Probation Officer, my teachers, even some of the kids that were (temporary) close friends in my last rehab I went to (just for marijuana/alcohol) said “dude, you need to straighten up because I have a feeling you’re going to do something big and I’m going to see you on TV one day”.

I mean my knowledge from studying Psychology, Linguistics, Hypnotism, History, and Network Security/Programming on my own has given me a lot of insight on the world, and none of it is good and all of it is deceptive and I don’t know if I’m supposed to expose it or use it to my advantage or what.

I mean I suppose a lot of people think that to feel better about themselves but not only do I think it, too many people have said it without anyone else mentioning it. Call me crazy but I need someone that can relate or something, not a bunch of nay sayers. Now, please, share =D
EDIT: I know they’re lies that help people, but the lies are unimportant in that people should believe in themselves, not someone elses idea that sounds good. And whether you knew it or not you just used Neuro-Linguistics there, and I believe people should know how they’re coerced into doing things in their daily lives but I suppose you’re right. I do agree with you to some extent. Especially the scientific theory and atoms and all of that. The knowledge behind it is just so…. stupid? I don’t even know. I’m glad there are people like me on here though.
