Question by Jonathan: Looking for a good Christian drug rehab program for women?
I have a 25 year old friend who needs lots of counseling and drug rehab. I am looking for a Christian women’s counseling center. I want something that is at least 6 months all the way up to 15 months and she lives there. Anyone know of any good ones? She currently lives in New Jersey but could travel anywhere.

We in the recovery program of Narcotics Anonymous have found that this perception is too simplistic. After a member has had some involvement in our fellowship, a relapse may be the jarring experience that brings about a more rigorous application of the program. By the same token we have observed some members who remain abstinent for long periods of time whose dishonesty and self-deceit still prevent them from enjoying complete recovery and acceptance within society. Complete and continuous abstinence, however, in close association and identification with others in NA groups, is still the best ground for growth. Although all addicts are basically the same in kind, we do, as individuals, differ in degree of sickness and rate of recovery. There may be times when a relapse lays the groundwork for complete freedom. At other times that freedom can only be achieved by a grim and obstinate willfulness to hang on to abstinence, come hell or high water, until a crisis passes. An addict who by any means can lose, even for a time, the need or desire to use, and has free choice over impulsive thinking and compulsive action, has reached a turning point that may be the decisive factor in his recovery. The feeling of true independence and freedom hangs here at times in the balance. To step out alone and run our own lives again draws us, yet we seem to know that what we have has come from dependence on a Power greater than ourselves and from the giving and receiving of help from others in

Question by Lanie A: How do I get alcohol rehab program?
I’m twenty-one and I started drinking when I was sixteen. At first, it was just casual drinking with friends but when I got into college, I became an alcoholic. I was always out every night and I drink an average of fifteen bottles of beer. I would not go home until I felt every part of my body was filled with booze. After realizing how alcohol can kill me and how it has ruined my life, I would do anything to lose the habit. Please help me find an alcohol rehab program.

Answer by Jonnel E
Like you, I have also been drinking during my college years. I know how good it felt to feel booze running down your throat. But then, I had to stop and so should you. And I commend you for realizing how much damage alcohol can do to your life. I would like to share with you how I became sober. After an intervention with my parents, I agreed to enter an alcohol rehab program. When I got into rehab, I found out about being able to control my cravings. I became sober and I found reasons to stay sober.

Alcoholism may seem incontrollable but it is not. In the alcohol rehab program, you will undergo treatments in an alcohol rehab facility. The alcohol rehab programs now have a holistic approach to fighting off alcoholism. They also deal with the spirituality of a recovering alcoholic. Although the length of your stay will be determined by how much alcohol you consumed, how often you drank and of course, how committed you are to the program, I know you can stick to it and if you get roadblocks along the path to sobriety, don’t fret. This will just show how you can free yourself from alcoholism through a strong commitment to the alcohol rehab program.

I wish you a speedy recovery.
