Probably not a problem. Be honest on your app and in your interview. If you have ever done a phsycadelic drug you may not get in.

Question by nofx41434: Can I join the Military if I have been to drug rehab?
In 2008 I went to drug rehab for one month because of oxycontin addiction. RIght now I am serving in the California Conservation Corp. When I am discharged from the CCC is there any chance that I can enlist in the Military? I have been clean with no relapses or charges.

Answer by PFC Joe
If there was an arrest related to it, you may need a waiver. Otherwise, so long as it is out of your system and won’t show up on the drug test at MEPS, you should be able to enlist so long as you meet the other qualifications such as scoring well enough on the AFQT/ASVAB, the physical requirements, and nothing else that would disqualify you.

Question by karl: Can I join the Coast Guard having voluntarily been in rehab for alcohol?
Thinking of joining the Coast Guard and need to know if you can join having been in rehab (For alcohol. No Drugs). It was 2 years ago and I no longer drink and I am in good shape. The only thing I can find online is rehab for drugs, and it was for alcohol. The 2 are related, but a little less severe (In my opinion). Thanks for any help on this

Answer by Keith H
Yes, as long as you don’t have anything on your record in regards to felony or arrests. You should have no problem joining the Coast Guard. I was in an alcohol program in the Marine Corps, and they allowed me to stay in even after my mess up.

Question by Jen W: Have you or someone close to you been to a drug rehab and where was it and would you recommend it?
I need help for a drug and alcohol problem. I know I’ve made the first step by admitting atleast I have a big problem. I’m very scared of detoxing but I can no longer live this way. I’ve lost interest in everything and my life is consumed by thinking of how I’ll get my next “high”. My drug of choice is opiates and they are awful to get off of. I have quit in the past (which was HELL!) but always returned. My family thinks that I should atleast go 90 days because the standard 28 days is just not long enough as I’ve been a user for around 15 years. I used to be very preety and I look terrible now. I’m constantly depressed. I also have some mental health issues that are worsened by my usage (severe anxiety, manic depression and OCD). Has anyone heard of Summerhouse Detox? I was thinking of detoxing there and maybe going somewhere in Canada for rehab (as it’s much cheaper). I would love to go the Cirque Lodge in Utah where Lindsay Lohan is going but it’s just too expensive!

Awww….poor kid! I feel for you! I am an ex-alcoholic, so I understand! I just woke up one day and said that’s it, I can’t do this another day and stopped. I didn’t need any professional help.

I’ve heard Hazelton in Minnesota is very good. This was some time ago, I think it’s still around. Lots of celebs go there too, so it may also be expensive, worth checking out though.

All my best to you!!

Nancala :)

Question by chibigenesis: Are you required to notify all current or future employers if you’ve been in drug rehab?
If you’ve been in a drug rehabilitation program, and successfully completed it, do you have to notify any potential employers? Do you have to notify a current employer if you’re going into a rehab program?

I assume the laws are differen in every state, but specifically in Illinois or california? If anyone knows a website that would tell me all this i’d really appreciate it.

Question by givemsm2: Why does Scientology believe human problems as having been originated by the evil galactic overlord, Xenu?
Operating Thetan (OT) documents of the Church of Scientology

“One: Walk around and counts bodies until you have a cognition. Make a report saying how many you counted and your cognition. Two: Note several large and small female bodies until you have a cognition. Note it down. Three: Note several large and several small male bodies until you have a cognition. Note it down. Four: Final a tight packed crowd of people. Write it as a crowd and then as individuals until you have a cognition. Note it down. Do step over until you do.”

Hubbard then goes on to explain OT2, but before he does so, he tells the Churches how to keep Scientology working. One way is to not divulge information on their “technology.” Doing so, says Hubbard, would result in “the complete destruction of all our work.”

“On the other hand there have been thousands and thousands of suggestions and writings which, if accepted and acted upon, would have resulted in the complete destruction of all our work. Our technology has not been discovered by a group. True, if the group had not supported me in many ways, I could not have discovered it either. But it remains that if in its formative stages it was not discovered by a group, then group efforts, one can safely assume, will not add to it or successfully alter it in the future,” states Hubbard in a confidential letter dated February 7, 1965.

Hubbard also goes on to say that “man has never before evolved workable mental technology and emphasizing it is the vicious technology he did evolve—psychiatry, psychology, surgery, shock treatment, whips, duress, punishment, etc., ad infinitum.” Hubbard also says that “war, famine, agony and disease has been the lot of Man” and that Man “has been what has made Earth a Hell—and if you were looking for Hell and found Earth, it would certainly serve.”

Hubbard calls those ‘men’ “SP Body Thetans” or those who “are out of valance” and who are “stuck to another thetan or body but is not in control” with Scientology. Some he says are even “psychotic, serve faces and have fixed ideas” which “inhibits recovery.” Thetan is derived from the Greek word “Theta” which means “thought or life.”

“An individual being such as a man is a thetan, he is not a body and he does not think because he has no brain,” states Hubbard.

It is not until ‘OT3′ when you learn the true beginning of Scientology. In Hubbard’s own hand written notes, he begins to describe a series of “76 planets [orbiting] around larger stars founded 95,000,000 years ago” which he says “are visible from here [Earth].”

From those planets, which were over populated by “about 250 million per planet,” came a “head of the Galactic Federation” named Xenu who solved the overpopulation by sending mass amounts of his people to Earth somewhere between “75,000,000 and 4 qadrillion [Sic] years ago.” Hubbard says that he brought them to Earth and dropped them off inside volcanoes on an island he describes as Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. Xenu then captured the ones who escaped after 36 days and exploded the remaining individuals with a hydrogen bomb. Xenu was later “captured after six years of battle” and Earth had since become a “desert.”

It is also said at this level, an implant, in what Hubbard calls an “engram” will be given in which the individual can “see pictures.” However these pictures are not to be “stuck” or permanent.

At ‘OT4′ individuals are allegedly rid of illegal and legal drugs. Documents state that addicts are not treated with drugs, but simply not given anything.

“As drugs and drug incidents have been so common on the whole track, to simply generally ask for drugs or drug incidents when dealing with BTs and clusters, could cause a total restim,” states the document which then says that individuals are made to wait out the effects of the drugs. Another process used to try and stop drug use is to “take any previously given Drug somatic items, or newly list any additional items connected with reading drugs, medicines, etc., and assess for reading somatic item.” Hubbard insists that these methods are proven effective.

‘OT5′ is when individuals learn about the “physical universe, not the laws of physical scientists, but the basic considerations about Matter, Energy, Space and Time,” states Hubbard.

At ‘OT6′ you allegedly learn telepathy and ‘OT7′is the “rehabilitation of ability to project intention.”

The final level, ‘OT8′, you are to “have full certainty and, therefore, perception on all” of your issues. According to Hubbard, the ‘OT8′ manuals are supposed to stay aboard the Free Winds Scientology ship which has heavy security because nothing is supposed to leave the ship. Despite that, Hubbard himself claims to have smuggled out his own ‘OT8′ instructions for the “elite” Scientologists.

“I am breaking security as I disagree that this should only be released to an elite in Scientology. I do, however, ask it not be released to psyches or ‘squirrels’ or anyone who will break the Independent Security Network and allow it to get back to the Church of Scientology. It would be best if they do not find out that we have it. Please treat this data responsibly. It is the key to the only truth possible,” said Hubbard in regards to his ‘OT8′ instructions

Question by I’m gonna start another riot: Illegal alien rape suspect has been deported nine times how do they keep making it back across?
I recently reported on the arrest of Mexican national Jose Lopez Madrigal in Edmonds, Washington for rape. Early reports indicated that he had been previously deported four times.

However, through confidential law enforcement sources and government documents, the investigative news team at KING 5 in Seattle has discovered that Madrigal has actually been deported back to Mexico a total of nine times.

On the evening of May 16, a police officer responding to a woman’s cries for help, caught Madrigal, 46, on top of a woman, raping her. Madrigal had forced the woman into the bushes behind a Safeway in Edmonds, Washington.

According to the arrest affidavit, Madrigal approached the woman, offering her for sex. When she said no, the illegal alien dragged her behind the store and raped her.

The 28-year-old rape victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Madrigal reportedly told police: “Sometimes we have control in our brains, but we make mistakes.”

Madrigal has been charged with rape, and is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer. Police report that the illegal alien has a total of 35 different aliases.

Due to his numerous aliases, police had to rely on fingerprint records to identify Madrigal.

Madrigal has a lengthy crimial record in this country, dating back to 1989, when he was convicted of theft with a firearm in California. After that, he was deported twice, before his next arrest on this side of the border.

In 1999, he was arrested for drug distribution in San Diego and San Francisco. He was deported three times that year alone, between April and August.

In 2000, Madrigal was arrested again for drug distribution in Stockton, Ca.

In 2002, he pleaded guilty to sexual assault in Denver, and deported again.

In 2003, he was deported three more times.

How come they never put him away for like 20 years ?

Best answer:

Answer by Jane Doe
Because our border and immigration laws are broken and have been for many many decades. We could pay to have this scum sit in our prisons for decades or send him back to his home country and let them deal with him. They usually choose to deport them. But our border is so porous that they just walk back in.So they wait till they murder a American citizen or rape somebody, then put them in prison. But then the American tax payer must pay thousands of dollars to incarcerate these people. So it is lose lose for the American citizen.

My husband has had 7 jobs within the past year or so. He is currently unemployed and seeking employment (shall I say he goes job hunting for about 2 hours every week.) He is a recovering drug addict and has little motivation to do much else. He disappears without explanation, usually for a couple of days. He is very self involved. He doesn’t much care about anyone else’s feelings and makes it known.

I support the family by my full-time job and his mother watches our daughter during the day because I cannot trust him.

He has stolen from me. He has stolen and/or pawned my jewelry, cameras, car, cell phones, appliances and money. He apologizes but is less than heartfelt.

He has gone to rehab many times but to no success. I live in lock down. I keep my valuables in a safe.
I am obviously unhappy and a and am just exhausted of this lifestyle. I never know what to expect and I just don’t like that feeling. I moved out of our apartment and moved in with my parents. My lease is up after this month and I am not signing a new lease with him. I cannot afford it. I want a divorce and I also want full custody of our daughter. I don’t know how likely a judge will grant me full custody but I think I have a good shot.

My husband does not have a job. He does not have health insurance. He does not have a car. He takes off without being accountable for his actions and still does drugs.(I haven’t tested him for drugs but his behavior is an indication.)

I didn’t want things to be this way and I wish he was responsible but I guess my question is how likely is it that I get full custody? I want my child to be safe and the environment that he is creating is disruptive.

I am having a really really bad day.

I had a fight with my boyfriend. Finals are this week and I am so not ready. My friends are keeping secrets from me and excluding me from 2 really big things. My friend just checked into drug rehab, no one told me. And I am really stressed. I cant sleep.

(Sorry I had to vent that out)

Anyways… I am feeling kind of useless and could anyone try to cheer me up?

I’m scared…I know I need to go into rehab, but I’m so scared that I won’t be happy sober…has anyone, recovered alcoholic, sober, been really happy or will I always just want that next drink? I am so scared of never having that glass of wine again…it sounds silly, and I know, but I want to hear what other people, who are sober and recovered…was it worth it? Was like good without the drink?
