Question by õ¿õ: police streaming video?
If police obtained a video surveillance search warrant, could they stream everything that was filmed LIVE on tv day after day?Ok,I know this sounds super far fetched because it would compromise the investigation, mess with finding a jury and all sorts of other things, but is there anything in the job description or anything by law, keeping them from doing this?Like airing the footage live on tv in a place where this person expects privacy, seems how its an on going investigation?Do they have to tell the person they are being filmed or anything? For instance, if you are monitoring a guy with cameras in his bedroom/bathroom his parents helped put there, could you air it live on tv if the guy was taking a shower and his everyday life, or would it have to be while a crime was being commited?Or since its an ongoing investigation you couldnt

2.IF this is possible, what if after awhile the guy gets put on probation, stops doing drugs gets rid of all paraphenalia etc, but said he might start doing them again when he gets off probation in 6 months or so,could you still broadcast his everyday life on tv until then, or would a judge not let you do it?

3.Is there a certain put when you have enough evidence, and you have to take action,or could you just film for years at a time

Or would the footage just be confidential

btw Im talking about making an actual tv show off of this.It would be for entertainment, but could the police say its just part of an investigation?
It would be an entire tv show,of course it would be entertaining, but police could say its just what they recorded.Does it work like that??It would be mainly for entertainment which anyone would testify, but could they say its just what they recorded?

outside of your home, there is nothing you can do

if you are an adult, and the cameras are in your home, and you don’t know about them- that would be illegal, however police do not waste their time with petty drug investigations

now, if you are a minor and living under your parents roof, they can record you as much as they want (as long as you are not naked, that is illegal)
