Can a parent call a rehabilitation center their child is at and get an update legally or is this a breach of Confidentiality Agreements?
The child is 15 years old.

yes ..as far as im aware a close family member is allowed to unless an injunction is served for some reason ..so is a yes or no scenario .. can be ambiguous depends who you are or if the rehab setting thinks your a good or bad influence gees sorry open book on that one .medical profession can be nightmare on wat they think is right or wrong for their charges ..as child is in their care is up to them sorry

Not in mass. If you call they don’t know who they are talking to. They will most likely say we can’t give you that info please come in. But it won’t hurt to call anyways. Its called HIPAA.

The parents can do this because this is a minor.
