Question by Daniel: What’s helped you chronic pain sufferers in back pain?
i’m on heavy narcotics and i think it might be time to up them again since i have some “breakthrough” which is now “constant”. Im on 50mcg of duragesic, 7.5 hydrocodone x3, 10mg cyclobenzaprine x2, and a compounded cream of ketamine/cyclobenzaprine/ketoprofen which is a lifesaver a few times a day (but i only get a little).

I’ve had addiction problems before and i’m hesitant to up the dose, but the pain is now so bad it’s impacting every aspect of my life. The pain stems from stenosis + scar tissue + degenerative disk disease. Im in the process of losing weight but there is only so much exercise i can do. Im desperately looking for measures that can help me that dont involve surgery of any kind – i’ve already been cut on twice and i dont want mroe time off work, more scars, more recovery time or more crushed hope.

I’m considering accupuncture, meditation, that ketamine treatment that is suppoesd to help reset the pain center of the brain someone told me about, epidural steroids, facet joint injections, nerve blocks – anything at all i can do. If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE let me know – this is ruining my life.

FYI, I did not ask for someone to tell me to go to rehab. Thank you for your concern but sometimes addicts need drugs for legitimate reasons. I can barely get through the day because of what feels like a knife shoved in my back and being ripped down to the middle of my shinbone. I asked for mature answers, not the equivilent of “stop popping pills you druggie”. I specifically asked for thought out mature answers and if you can’t provide that, respectfully, do not answer the question.

Question by Lauren: My mom is in NA and is acting weird lately. Should I be worried?
Last night we were driving really late up to the gas station and she was swerving all over the road. It was so scary and she said it was because she took a muscle relaxer mixed with benadryl and swore she would never do it again and she was so sorry for putting me at risk. My mom is in recovery and just celebrated 9 years. She is taking some muscle relaxers for her back. But, I also found a whole prescription of klonapins in her room. Should I be worried? Are klonapins narcotics? Even if they aren’t, should she be taking them? Help. Thanks so much

Best answer:

Answer by Antz C
she shouldn’t be taking so many drugs at once
yes be worried and confront her about it

Question by eric b: Will a drug bust buy arrest hold up in court without police producing marked money used in transaction?
The police used a confidential informant, who is trying to reduce he incarcerated husband’s jail time, to set up two drug buy bust of no more than 30 percocet pills. They say they have video surveillance and a recorded phone conversation, but I know they did not use marked money in the transaction. Is this an error that could lead to the charges being dropped if they cannot produce the money used in the drug buy bust?

Best answer:

Answer by Terry
No, they don’t have to use marked money.

Question by 22butterfly22: Boyfriend of 4 years throwing me through a roller coster, please help!?
So here is the scenario:

10 months ago my boyfriend (24 years old) and I (24 years old) broke up because he cheated on me and he decided to stay with that girl. We reconnected 4 months later and have been together ever since.

Things were great in the first few months, he was changing the way he used to be (he used to flake on me, accuse me of cheating and be verbally abusive). I haven’t been happier with him or loved him more. This month is the sixth month of being together and all of sudden things are starting to change.

Last weekend he flaked on me to go to his friends, left me at his house until 1 in the morning. Of course he had a huge apology and a excuse. I forgave him because he promised he wasn’t gonna be that person anymore, he said he just slipped. Okay fine. But this weekend it all changed again.

Friday he freaked out because I didn’t want to take him to narcotics anonymous meeting (he is a recovering drug and alcohol user). The plan was to just go to the movies with his friends, but all of a sudden he wants to go to a meeting. I fully support his recovery and always have, but I just wasn’t in the mood. The issue is that he has no car and no license so I have to take him everywhere.

Anyways, once I said I was set on not going he flipped out. He told me how I never want to hang out with his friends (totally untrue) and that it’s really hard to be with me (I give him rides everywhere, have helped him out more than anyone ever has and love him so much). I was shocked that he would react like this over not getting his way. And then it got worse he told me he wants to break up. Hours later though it turned out to just be a threat, but my trust and respect for him totally disappeared. I forgave him later the next day.

During the next day we kept distance from each other, but he said we would hang out and do whatever I wanted. Well that never happened because he went with his friends and didn’t call me till 9:15pm. Then he was inviting me over to his friends house where I thought the plan was just gonna be me and him. That turned into a huge fight because he flips out within seconds over nothing.

So I come over to his house and he gets into my car. The minute he sits down he says, “why does you car smell different, what is that weird smell??” And he sits there and sniffs around like a dog for like a minute. He was implying that I may have had a guy in my car even though he didn’t say it. I was mortified and just sickened. I have never ever cheated on him and for him to even have the audacity to do that was horrible.

I couldn’t speak to him the whole night, I didn’t even want him touching me. He tried to apologize and told me the reason he did that was because since he was being such a bad boyfriend lately, he thought maybe I would go find another guy. I can’t stand it.

All I keep thinking is I need to break up with him, but we have broken up so many times and each time I have come back. I mean I even came back when he cheated, so what’s the point in ending it. I just can’t seem to leave. Please help me, I really have no one to talk to about this right now.

Thank you so much for even reading.

Best answer:

Answer by Brooke
I know it’s hard not being able to talk to someone, especially your boyfriend when he’s supposed to be your best friend. It seems like he is just turning the situation around and trying to make you feel bad for the wrong things he is doing, which guys tend to do. Maybe when a fight happens, and he decides to “leave” you just need to stop trying to contact him, and let him come back to you. Let him be scared of losing something great he has. I know it may be hard to do, because you obviously care for him a lot if you’re doing all these things for him. He just needs to mature.

Question by Cinderelle: Please guide me if I reacted wrong with him, I get wreck less, scared, shall i give him chance or i leave?
my fiancée an addict from 10 years I discovered after our engagement and I went with him to ( N A ) Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts and he’s in recovery and made 5 month now (you can’t all imagine the effort I did with him to pass his first steps) he was doing great and his supervisor was so happy from his result and suddenly he relapsed two days ago and he refused to back again to the (Na) and his supervisor called in the morning to come to his house to convince him to restart again, once he saw me he fall down with non stop crying at after talking to him I told him that he betrayed my trust and he’s the one who choose to leave me not me, and I told him I will ask you one thing before I leave your life, go again to (NA) and start over.
At the end he agree to go with them but he keep crying with holding my hand don’t want me to go away from him.. we all shocked from the way he act as he’s very strong person.
